About Me

Shelby Ying Hyde is a Brooklyn-based writer with bylines everywhere (Harper’s Bazaar, The Cut, Refinery29, etc.) and a penchant for brand discovery. Striving to engage luxury consumers in the digital space, while teaching them the importance of conscious consuming, the self-proclaimed vintage and second-hand savant has a passion for sustainability, through a fashion lens, working alongside brands, as well as organizations like the Fashion Impact Fund (by way of the United Nations) to push the conversation forward.

Prior to venturing into the editorial space, Shelby worked as a copywriter and copyeditor for luxury e-commerce giants, Net-A-Porter and Moda Operandi, where she acquired an extensive understanding of the market, while becoming well-versed in fabrics, silhouettes, and other unique selling points.

She graduated from Miami University of Ohio, with two degrees in Journalism and English (Professional Writing track), as well as a minor in Fashion Design.

Switching gears only slightly, the creative is currently working to bridge the gap between the worlds of fashion and travel while exploring the real life implications of the industry from a global perspective.

In 2022, Shelby traveled to Iceland, Portugal, Spain, France, London, and Curacao, immersing herself in each fashion market, respectively.
